Dogs need vaccination, so vaccinations for dogs are not optional at all. But that does not mean you cannot have any question regarding your dog’s vaccination. New pet owners need to ask these following five vaccination questions to their vets,

  1. What kind of diseases can my dog develop?
  2. Is only Rabies vaccine required by law?
  3. What about optional vaccines? Why my dog needs them?
  4. Is my dog healthy for a vaccination?
  5. Different vaccination for different breeds?

Reason for dog vaccination

Law requires you to get rabies vaccination for your dog. But that’s not all, some vaccines are mandatory for your dog. These vaccinations will protect your dog from deadly diseases. Here are some others reasons to get your dog vaccinated,

  • Most pet diseases are rare and incurable, only early vaccination can save your dog.
  • Almost all the vaccine for dogs do not have a bad side effect
  • Dogs have weaker immune system, without vaccination dogs fell sick during winter months.
  • Only vaccination can protect dogs from deadly diseases like Leptospirosis.

Dog’s vaccination also depends on dog’s breeds. This is why you need to take your dog to a good vet first. You need to listen to your vet when it comes to vaccination for dogs.

Tips about dog vaccination

After vaccinating your dog you need to follow these following steps,

  1. Make sure your dog does not interact with dogs who are not vaccinated.
  2. Do not take your dog to a pet park right after vaccination.
  3. You also need to be careful, after coming back from outside, please wash your hands before touching your just vaccinated dog.

Remember, vaccinations are not enough to secure a safe future for your dog, but vaccinations definitely lower the chances of deadly diseases in dogs.
